New parents-where has all the love gone?

A new baby can bring so much joy to any home.  But as new parents, you can get so caught up in changing nappies, feeding times and cuddles that it’s all too easy to forget to be a ‘couple’ as well.  All the excitement and warmth of romance between you and your partner may seem like a closed chapter in your life…  but this doesn’t have to be so.  A few romantic touches, carefully planned into your lives, can reinvigorate even the most exhausted new mums and dads.
Making and eating a home cooked meal together can be enjoyable, as well as ensuring you both get some good food to keep up your strength.  Choose a dish that can be prepared and eaten in stages to allow for looking after baby.
Small, romantic gestures can mean the world to a tired and run down new parent.  An inexpensive gift, a sweetly worded card or simply a thoughtful text can show your partner that you’re thinking of them.
Make a point of telling your partner how attractive and sexy you find them.  Low self esteem, caused by lack of sleep and a life which revolves around childcare, can knock even the most confident of people.  Keep it away by showing how much you care for your partner.
If you feel you can bear to leave baby with a trusted relative or friend, try to get out with your partner, even if it’s just for an hour or two.  Activities like going to the cinema or for a bike ride can seem impossible when you have a baby, so this can remind you how much you enjoy each other’s company.
But if all else fails, when you climb into bed after another busy day (or night) with baby, just make sure you’ve saved a few of those cuddles for each other.
